Sofia Urcuyo

Professional Development Program Coordinator

Sofia Urcuyo is the Professional Development Program Coordinator for the Center for Women in Law. Born in Nicaragua, Sofia moved to the United States when she was seven years old. She grew up in McAllen, and graduated from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) with a bachelor’s degree in political science, minoring in women’s and gender studies. She previously worked at the UTRGV Office of Governmental Relations, the National Endowment for the Humanities’ Congressional Affairs Office, and during the 88th Texas Legislature.
