Cynthia Thomson Diggs

Cynthia Diggs is a Managing Partner and the Attorney-in-Charge at Holmes, Diggs & Sadler. Servicing the company for over a decade, Cynthia has tremendous experience in complex family law cases. She believes in thorough, exacting preparation for court, handling each case with strategic focus to try to reach the most peaceful resolution for her clients. Practicing for over thirty years, Cynthia has risen to the top of the law field, being named a Super Lawyer every year since 2009 and awarded AVVO’s Client’s Choice award for divorce. She is a member and past-president of the Association of Women Attorneys in Houston.

Over the past decade, Cynthia has risen in rank and stayed active in two prestigious legal organizations. In 2012, Cynthia was inducted into the American board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), becoming a member of an invitation-only group of seasoned jury-trial attorneys, and has served on the National Board of ABOTA since 2016. Recognized for her experience and skill in family law, Cynthia has long been a member of the International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAFL), where she served on the IAFL National Board. In addition, Cynthia is a member of numerous legal associations, including, but not limited to, the Family Law Sections of the State Bar of Texas, the Houston Bar Association, and the Gulf Coast Family Law Specialists.

Leading members of the legal profession across the country, Cynthia has been a speaker at the 2013 Annual Texas Bar Association Meeting and numerous National Business Institute seminars, presenting papers such as Preserving Evidentiary Error in Family Cases, Family Law Evidence, and Trial Issues in Custody Cases.

Cynthia earned a B.A. from Baylor University in 1981 and went on to earn a J.D. at the University of Texas School of Law in 1984. At UT, Cynthia was an Associate Editor of The Texas Law Review and a member of the Order of the Barristers. She represented The University of Texas School of Law as a member of its National Moot Court Team and National Mock Trial Team. Continuing her love for debate, Cindy Diggs is a founding member and serves on the Advisory Board of the Houston Urban Debate League.
