Jerry Clements serves as Chair of Locke Lord LLP, an international law firm of about 650 attorneys with offices in 11 U.S. cities, London and Hong Kong, and is one of only a few women heading a top 100 law firm in the country. She received her J.D., cum laude, from Baylor School of Law in 1981, where she served as Editor in Chief of the Baylor Law Review. She is a Member of the Baylor University Board of Regents and she is a former President of the Baylor Law Alumni Board. She has been named one of the Top 50 Most Influential Women Lawyers in America by The National Law Journal; one of 30 Extraordinary Women in Texas Law by Texas Lawyer; one of the Top 10 Litigators in the Dallas-Fort Worth area by the Dallas Business Journal; one of the Top 50 Female Litigators in the State by Texas Monthly Magazine; and one of Texas’ Most Powerful Women by the Texas Diversity Council.

During her almost 30 years of litigation experience, Jerry has represented Fortune 500 companies across a wide range of industries and built an impressive record of resolutions in complex disputes in the area of commercial litigation. Her decades-long work in class actions helped shape the law, not only in Texas but in other states whose courts have relied upon precedent established in Texas cases in which she was lead trial counsel. She serves on the Board of Directors of the National Women’s Council, which is dedicated to making a difference by developing, encouraging and empowering women of all ages and backgrounds. She is a champion of women and diversity, continues to elevate women and minorities in firm leadership roles, and serves as a mentor to many.

Jerry is known not only for her leadership and vision, but also for her compassion and character. She is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, which is dedicated to the improvement in the quality of trial and appellate advocacy, the ethics of the legal profession and the administration of justice. She also is a Member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a Fellow in the International Society of Barristers, a Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America, and a Board Member of Business Counsel Inc. She has been commissioned a Yellow Rose of Texas by Gov. Rick Perry for the positive recognition she has brought to the State of Texas, received the Flame of Honor Award from the Southwest Jewish Congress, and is a supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization committed to helping the country’s severely wounded service members. She also is a member of the Alexis De Tocqueville Society of the United Way and is a benefactor of the Austin Museum of Art. Jerry is a graduate of Texas Christian University, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
