Deborah R. Gilg

Neutral Arbitrator, Financial Regulatory Authority Commissioner, Nebraska Crime Commission U.S. Attorney, District of Nebraska (2009-2017)

Deborah R. Gilg is the former United States Attorney for Nebraska. She was appointed by President Barack Obama and served from 2009-2017.

Currently, she serves on the Financial Regulatory Authority (FINRA) panel of neutral arbitrators and as a Commissioner on the Nebraska Crime Commission. Ms. Gilg is also an adjunct law professor at the University of Nebraska College of Law.

In 2018, Gilg founded the company, Fearless, Fierce and Forward,L.L.C.  and in that capacity she develops and presents various women empowerment and leadership seminars nationwide. Ms. Gilg has practiced law privately and was an elected county attorney for the majority of her 40 + years of being an attorney. 

She is active in several community philanthropic endeavors and serves on numerous community and educational boards. She co-founded the Women in Leadership Initiative at the University of Nebraska College of Law.

She has been honored by the Nebraska State Bar Association for Outstanding Public Service and Outstanding Contributor to Women in the Law.

She is a lifetime Nebraska Bar Foundation fellow and a lifetime member of the National Association of Former United States Attorneys. In her spare time, she and her spouse of 43 years travel the world and have visited all 7 continents.
