Laurie Higginbotham is a trial and appellate lawyer with a national practice representing victims of catastrophic injury, with a special focus on Federal Tort Claims Act cases. She is a partner with National Trial Law in Austin, Texas. She has tried cases in Texas, Mississippi, Arkansas, Virginia, and Kentucky, and handled appeals in the United States Supreme Court, the Texas Supreme Court, and the 4th, 5th, 9th, and 10th Circuits. She attended UT Austin for both undergrad and law school and graduated from UT Law in 1999. She was a member of the Order of the Barristers. She was named the “Outstanding Young Lawyer” for 2007 by the Austin Young Lawyer's Association and is a past President of the Travis County Women Lawyer’s Association. She has been named a Texas Super Lawyer every year since 2013 and was recognized as a Super Lawyers “Rising Star” every year from 2004 – 2013. She has been listed as one of the Top Attorneys in Austin by Austin Monthly in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023.
