ABC News and NPR political commentator Cokie Roberts concluded the Center for Women in Law’s 2015 Women’s Power Summit™ with a strong message of using power for change. Roberts discussed the evolving, yet sometimes shrouded, prominence of women in catalyzing social change. In her newly released bookCapital Dames, she details the immense contributions of women during the Civil War who made significant strides in demanding gender parity in the workforce. However, as Roberts explained, there is more equality that must be fought for “through the law, constant advocacy, and everyday interactions in society.”

The Center for Women in Law’s Women’s Power Summit™, held every two years, is one of the most significant gatherings of women attorneys in the country. Offered by invitation only, the Women’s Power Summit™ convenes the preeminent women in law: general counsel, judges, law firm managing partners, government officials, law school deans, and state bar presidents. The 2015 Women’s Power Summit™ marked the fourth time leaders convened in Austin, Texas to address issues related to the advancement of women in the legal profession.
