The Women’s Power Summit™, which is held every two years, is one of the most significant gatherings of women attorneys in the country. Offered by invitation only, the Women’s Power Summit™ convenes the preeminent women in law: general counsel, judges, law firm managing partners, government officials, law school deans, and state bar presidents.

The theme of the 2015 Women’s Power Summit™ is Using Power for Change. Susan L. Blount, Executive Vice President and General Counsel, Prudential Financial, Inc. is the chair.

This high-level discussion tailored to the most senior industry leaders provided a ground-breaking guide for leading change and flourishing in a rapidly changing environment. Jeffery Pfeffer: “Power: How to Get It, Use It, and Keep It”

In his new book, Power: Why Some People Have It—and Others Don’t, Jeffrey provides a ground-breaking guide for flourishing in an increasingly competitive workplace. He has taught at Stanford University since 1979. He is the author or co-author of thirteen books, and has also held visiting professorships at the Harvard Business School, London Business School, IESE Business School in Spain, and other institutions. Building on the latest social science research and drawing from decades of consulting with corporations and teaching MBA students, Jeffrey shared his insights on how participants can successfully build, maintain, and employ power in their organizations. Participants experienced a candid and realistic examination of human behavior and the implications for individual success.


Gloral Feldt: “Owning Your Power”

Gloria Feldt is author of No Excuses: 9 Ways Women Can Change How We Think about Power. She is a leading activist, a bestselling author of four books, and a commentator and keynote speaker on women and leadership, politics, power, health, and media. Gloria’s frontline experience as former President and CEO of Planned Parenthood has given her a unique understanding of the confluence of the personal and the political in leadership and American culture. Currently she is a professor at Arizona State University where she teaches “Women, Power, and Leadership.” At the 2011 Summit, Gloria used both inspirational stories and practical tools to demonstrate how women can redefine power, lead themselves with intention, and reach parity in the workplace.

The Austin Manifesto, a blueprint for achieving parity in the legal profession, was adopted by acclamation by all of the participants who came to the 2009 Women’s Power Summit on Law & Leadership. By signing the Austin Manifesto, participants committed to personally taking specific, concrete steps to tackle the stubborn obstacles facing women in the profession today.
