University of Texas School of Law Professor Mechele Dickerson Named to Academy of Distinguished Teachers at UT Austin

University of Texas School of Law Professor Mechele Dickerson has been named to the Academy of Distinguished Teachers. The Academy was created in 1995 to recognize tenured faculty members who have maintained significant contributions to education throughout their careers.

University of Texas School of Law Professor Mechele Dickerson has been named to the Academy of Distinguished Teachers at UT Austin. The Academy was created in 1995 to recognize tenured faculty members who have maintained significant contributions to education throughout their careers, particularly at the undergraduate level.

Receiving both her bachelors and J.D. from Harvard, Mechele is a nationally recognized bankruptcy law scholar and a global media expert on consumer debt. Her research focuses on student loans and other consumer debt, income inequality, and the financial challenges of the middle class in the US. Additionally, she is the author ofHomeownership and America’s Financial Underclass: Flawed Premises, Broken Promises, New Prescriptions.
