CWIL hosted lunch with one of Texas Law's most distinguished alums and the first woman to serve as Chief Judge in the Seventh Circuit.
Chief Judge Diane Wood began her career as a legal academic in 1980 after a brief period at the U.S. Department of State. From 1993 until she was appointed a Circuit Judge for the Seventh Circuit in 1995, she served as Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. She became Chief Judge of the Seventh Circuit on October 1, 2013. Over the course of her distinguished career, Chief Judge Wood has been on the short list for vacancies on the United States Supreme Court twice.
