CWIL Founding Member Claudia Wilson Frost, a partner in DLA Piper’s Houston office and US co-chair of the firm’s Patent Litigation practice, has received the “Women at the Pinnacle” award from the Houston Association of Women Attorneys (AWA).
The award recognizes women in the practice of law who have provided leadership and strategic legal counsel to their clients. Honorees will be recognized at the AWA’s “Premier Women in Law” luncheon on March 25.
With three decades of experience as a trial lawyer, appellate advocate and strategist, Frost has vast knowledge in all aspects of patent litigation. She has played a leading role in more than 50 patent cases in both trials and appeals; argued Markman hearings; tried patent infringement cases to verdict; represented parties in Section 337 actions in the ITC; and argued significant cases in the Federal Circuit. While most of her patent litigation experience has been in the areas of oil and gas/energy and telecommunications, she has also handled patent cases in other areas, including in the financial services and retail sectors. Frost also advises clients on international patent acquisition and enforcement strategies, either as part of ongoing litigation or independently as a business advisor.
Frost has been recognized for her leading practice by Law360, Managing Intellectual Property, Chambers USA, US Legal 500, Super Lawyers, The Best Lawyers in America, and Euromoney, among others. She is a co-founder of the Center for Women in Law at the University of Texas, a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a Fellow in the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers, and is certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in both Civil Trial Law and in Civil Appellate Law.
CWIL congratulates Frost on this well-deserved award.
